About The Hackathon

The MoroccoAI Generative AI Hackathon aims to foster innovation and collaboration within Morocco's burgeoning AI ecosystem. As a participant, you are asked to use the latest GenAI advances to build cutting edge solutions to solve business problems in specific industries. You can join a team to develop a Proof of Concept (PoC) involving an API, a mobile application, or a web application aimed at addressing a real-life problem in Education, Healthcare, Environment, Finance or Customer Services .

Over the span of 7 days, starting from December 11th to 17th, you will collaborate with a team to transform your idea into a PoC. Throughout this period, you'll receive guidance and assistance to refine your idea, identify potential team members, and/or evaluate specific functionalities within your current solution.

The Challenge

  • Connect with the MoroccoAI community, join teams and brainstorm ideas then come up with a project that leverages Generative AI in 5 areas of focus:

    • Finance

    Register to connect with the large MoroccoAI community and join the GenAI Hackathon slack channel, meet the mentors, hack during the seven days then submit your project and pitch in front of a Jury and win attractive prizes.

The prizes will be awarded on the basis of the Jury evaluation. Most importantly, you will gain valuable experience and have fun!

Rules

Participants: The Hackathon is open to individuals or teams with a limit on team size with a maximum of 3 members.

Teams: Multiple individuals may collaborate as a team. You may not participate on more than one Team. Each Team member must be a single individual.

Registration: The team must register by the specified deadline and agree to the hackathon rules.

Innovation: How original and innovative the solution is?

Impact: Does it have the potential for a significant positive impact on society or industry?

Feasibility: Can the idea be implemented in a real-world scenario?

Presentation: Quality of the pitch and demonstration of the solution.

Ownership: Participants retain IP rights to their solutions.

Code: You agree that upon request from the organizer, you must share your code to ensure the reproducibility of your results and to facilitate their verification.

Licensing: Any third-party assets must be properly licensed for use.

Data Privacy: Any use of data should comply with data protection regulations.

Transparency: Participants must disclose any use of pre-built libraries or tools.

Ethical AI: Solutions must adhere to ethical AI principles and should not contribute to harmful outcomes.

Instructions

Join the MoroccoAI Slack workspace MoroccoAI Slack workspace

Upon application approval, you will be added to the "moroccoai-2023-gen-ai-hackathon" Slack private channel. You do not need to have an idea to participate. Join a team with an idea and get inspired!

Engage in a discussion, find teammates, send them private messages, build a strong team and give it a cool team name.

Come up with a project idea that leverages Generative AI in Education, Healthcare, Environment, Finance or Customer Services.

Your team will be invited to join the Discord workspace. The Hackathon starts on Monday, December, 11th.

Meet the mentors on Discord, discuss the ideas and enjoy a week of hacking!

Upon completion, the team lead has to submit the project before Sunday, December, 17th through this submission form . You will be asked to send the description of the project, the pitch video of maximum 3 min, the presentation file, the link to a demo, and the github link to the source-code.

The Jury may ask the team to join a Q&A session before the winners announcement on 21st December (the second day of the conference)
