About The Hackathon
The MoroccoAI InnovAI Hackathon is a unique opportunity for AI enthusiasts, professionals, and innovators to collaborate and create transformative AI-based solutions addressing real-life challenges in Morocco and across Africa. As part of the annual MoroccoAI Annual Conference, this hackathon is set under the theme “Driving the Future of Innovation Through AI”, inspiring participants to harness AI’s capabilities to make a meaningful societal impact. Participants will join teams to develop Proof of Concepts (PoCs) using applications or APIs that address challenges in various domains. Education, Healthcare, Environment, Finance or Customer Services .
In line with MoroccoAI’s mission, this hackathon centers around “Driving the Future of Innovation Through AI”. AI has the power to redefine industries, address community needs, and propel sustainable growth. Through this event, participants will dive into AI’s potential by developing impactful solutions that address challenges unique to Morocco and Africa in fields such as agriculture, education, health, and finance, fostering innovation in response to real-world needs.

Register to connect with the large MoroccoAI community and join the MoroccoAI Hackathon discord server, meet the mentors, hack during the seven days then submit your project and pitch in front of a Jury and win attractive prizes.

Total prizes of 30,000 MAD will be awarded to the top-performing teams:
1st Prize
20,000 MAD
2nd Prize
10,000 MAD
Additional honorary mentions will be awarded, with sponsor-provided prizes and special recognitions for notable contributions.
Rules
Participants: Open to individuals and teams of 2-5 members.
Teams: Each participant may only join one team.
Registration: The team must register by November 20th, 2024, and agree to the hackathon rules.
Innovation: Uniqueness and originality in using AI
Impact: Potential for positive societal or industry impact.
Feasibility: Practicality of implementing the solution.
Scalability:Potential to grow or be applied more broadly.
Presentation: Clarity and professionalism in the pitch and demo.
Ownership: Participants retain IP rights to their solutions.
Code: You agree that upon request from the organizer, you must share your code to ensure the reproducibility of your results and to facilitate their verification.
Licensing: Any third-party assets must be properly licensed for use.
Data Privacy: Any use of data should comply with data protection regulations.
Transparency: Participants must disclose any use of pre-built libraries or tools.
Ethical AI: Solutions must adhere to ethical AI principles and should not contribute to harmful outcomes.
Instructions
Fill the registration form starting on November 6th, 2024.
Accepted participants will be notified and invited to join Discord server.
Engage in a discussion, find teammates, send them private messages, build a strong team and give it a cool team name.
Come up with a project idea that leverages AI in Education, Healthcare, Environment, Finance or Customer Services.
Each team will have a private Discord channel for communication
Mentorship is available daily on Discord from 7 pm to 12 am.
Upon completion, the team lead has to submit the project by December 1st, 2024. You will be asked to submit,a project description, a pitch video (max 3 minutes), a presentation file, a demo link (max 3min).
The top 10 projects will be selected based on initial criteria and present them to the jury for final evaluation, the jury may conduct Q&A sessions with selected teams.
The winners will be announced on the second day of the conference (December 5th, 2024)
